“This is it folks - the last recorded statement by Dogweed, the short lived but prolific free beat collective based along the Front Range of Colorado. Recorded summer of 2016 in Denver and Boulder featuring the core trio of Devin Shaffer, Robby Friedlen and Jesse Michel with additional contributions by Rayne Soffley. Possibly the deepest sessions by the crew yet, covering all the bases from get-live instrumental hip hop; to deep, deep dub excursions; to completely psyched out drug droners. The a-side is presented in beat tape style, flipping through a number of recorded sketches, completely improvised as usual, cut out of much longer jams. The b-side is one continuous jam, charting a journey through a number of cut up samples and weird synth freak outs with the usual ghostly vocals courtesy of Devin. Dig in folks, this is the last of the material from the many heady sessions the crew recorded throughout 2015 and 2016 before going on indefinite hiatus.”
