about

On July 20, 2016 Terrible Pleasures presented a mini-festival in Denver, CO at the Juice Church. 6 different groups performed radical sets, including Denver stalwarts Preteen OD and Mirror Fears, as well as true Boulder freaks Warm Dad and Mammyth. Captured here, however, are the sets laid down by Denver harsh psych band Horicon Marsh, and Denver / Boulder instrumental beat collective Dogweed, playing their first and last show. Both sets were almost completely improvised and offer a glimpse into the sounds of Terrible Pleasures and the Front Range weirdo music scene. Horicon Marsh laid down a heady, hypnotic groover before lapsing into sheets of drone and noise; while Dogweed blasted out some serious dancefloor movers/shakers before invariably lapsing into dubbed out come-down beats. Although both sets are utterly engrossing, be sure to stay tuned for that final Dogweed track, a high point in the Terrible Pleasures catalog and live underground music in Denver.
